Wedding Bells

This past weekend was Benny's first Memorial Day weekend.  Daddy didn't have to work for three whole days!!!!  That alone made it fabulous.  Plus, Benny attended his first wedding.  My cousin Chris and his fiance Tiffany were married on Saturday.  So, Benny got to meet much of my extended family.  One of the best parts....we met Benny's second cousin Hunter who was born just three days before Benny.

My cousin Shawn and I with Benny

We got to meet Hunter and see his Mommy Morgan!

Bug eyes.  (Luke graciously allowed Benny to play with his pillow pet who decided to come along to the wedding.)

Hanging out with Granny and Grandpa.

Benny had a Little Lamb!

If you know me very well at all, you know I grew up in a rural farming area with cows, sheep, chickens, turkeys, etc.  One of my favorite things growing up was when we had baby lambs in the spring.  They are so stinkin' cute!  We had to take Benny to visit Granny Lindy and Grandpa Stevie and the lambs.

First you send Grandpa Stevie out to catch a lamb...

Then you all huddle around its excessive cuteness!

Yes, its very soft.

The speckled lamb!

Daddy, Benny, and the lamb

Mommy, Benny, and the lamb

Not only was there cute lambs, but chickens too!

Benny and a Bunny!

You know what this girl told me this weekend?  She said, "Aunt Annie, Benny is so cute and sweet.  Its too bad he will grow up to be stinky and smelly.  All boys grow up to be stinky and smelly."

Words of wisdom and truth from Ella.

Happy Mother's Day...to Me!

Thanks to this little cutie, I have another holiday to celebrate.  I'm very happy to be his mommy.

Here's the scoop on my first mother's day....

Saturday morning Kevin and I went to Dodd Camera and bought a new camera!  We've been wanting a new one for awhile.  Our other one was very slow.  Not good for a fast moving, wiggly baby.  Finally, we bit the bullet and got a new and improved.  After that, I had a wedding to play for at church.  I came home, and Kevin and Benny had bought me 3 pretty hanging baskets of flowers for our yard.  We grilled some burgers and ate dinner in our sun room looking at the pretty flowers.  (Not even Mother's Day yet...)  Sunday morning, we went to church.  Pastor Marc and Mary from our previous church came and ate lunch with us and met Benny.  [I forgot to take a picture of them with Benny!]  After that, we went to Nana and Papa's house for a tasty roast beef dinner, complete with chocolate pie!  Doesn't get better than that!

Here are some more pics from the weekend using the new camera.

These flowers aren't for picking!

Well Nana, let me tell you about my life story...

Cheek to cheek

Good time with Grampie.

We have LOTS of pictures now thanks to the new camera.  Daddy is all about the new gadgets.  He is like the paparazzi!  (And he always said his mother took too many pictures.  I think he's got her beat.)

Carmel Indiana, Carmel Indiana, Carmel Indiana....A Wonderful Place! (sing to tune Gary Indiana)

On April 28 (very behind on my blogging) we got in the car and we drove, and we drove, and we drove....  Finally we made it to Carmel Indiana for Holly's confirmation weekend.  My little social butterfly LOVED it!  Nonstop love, snuggles, and attention for 3 whole days.  He did fantastic on the car ride and sleeping at night.  In fact, I think he slept a little bit better there than at home because we were in the basement where it was dark.
Mission accomplished:  Holly was confirmed!

A nice family photo...

Just lovely....

Got to hang out with my Uncle Chris

Everybody!  (minus Marian--I think she took the picture...)

Taking a snooze with Grammy.

Morning fun with Aunt Angie in my snugglesaurus jammies!

Gotta eat Mr. Wormy!

Always good to see Aunt Katie.  Did I mention that I'm going to go visit her in Minnesota?

Miss Brooke!

Nana and Papa all ready for church.

Got to meet my Great Aunt Marian!

Some good lookin' fellas!

The weekend was lots of fun!  Benny can't wait to see everyone again!

Four Months Old: Mr. Observant

My sweet Benny turned four months old yesterday!  Time continues to fly by too quickly.  What do I notice most now about Benny?  He takes note of EVERYTHING.  He definitely is very aware of everything that goes on in his environment.  Some things he notices that I think are pretty observant:

1) The images on the computer screen change!  I used to feed him and check my email, facebook, etc.  Now I can't necessarily do that.  He gets to busy looking at the computer screen to eat.

2) When I'm playing Pandora, he notices when it changes from music to commercial.  He stops whatever he is doing and looks at me like "hey they turned our music off."

3) The other night there was a siren sound probably a few streets away.  He stopped eating and looked at me like "I never noticed something like that before."

4) He has more trouble falling asleep because he keeps wanting to 'talk' and smile.  At night, I go into his room, turn off the lights, and rock him with my eyes closed.  Finally, he thinks I'm boring enough that he falls asleep.

A picture from a few weeks ago.  The dogwood tree in our backyard was very pretty this year.

Having so much fun in my boppy!

Looking handsome in my little sailor outfit.
