POP Visitors!

Last Saturday, the Marte family came to visit us!  It was so nice to visit with them and hear about how everyone is doing at our old church.

Cool Car

Two weekends ago, (March 11----way behind on blogging about this!), Chris and Al and their cool car came to visit us and have dinner with us.  It was a grand time.

Daddy, Mommy, Benny, and Shelby

A pretty sweet ride.

Chris and Al let us take it for a spin.  (I like convertibles.  Made me miss my Z4!)

Evidence that the pouty face has been mastered.

Never mind...I actually really liked hanging out with Al.

Hey.  Why didn't anyone take me for a ride in the cool car?

Day O' the Green

Hey everybody!  It was my first St. Patrick's Day!

Mommy and I wore our green.

Grammy stopped by to see me on St. Patty's Day.

Yup. I had a green frog on my bottom....

The whole family wore green!  (Mommy had to make Daddy change his clothes this morning.  He somehow thought wearing green was optional!)

It was a lovely day.  March 17 and we grilled hamburgers and sat outside in shorts in the sunshine!  Daddy even took us to McDonald's to get Shamrock shakes for dessert tonight.  In the upper 70s today.  I told Benny he brought a lot of warm sunshine to winter 2012!

P.S. Benny has big plans to drink lots of green Kool-Aid with Grampie next year....

Rode Trip

This past Saturday, Benny made his longest road trip yet to visit Granny Lindy, Grandpa Stevie, Uncle Aron, Ella, Luke, and to meet for the first time his Great-Grandpa and Great-Granny.  (Aunt Annie had to work on Saturday, so we didn't get to see her.  Bummer.)  It was so great for Benny to meet his other great-grandparents.  Benny is their 17th great-grandchild.  That's right.  17th.  They had 3 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and now 17 great-grandchildren.  Geesh!  I'm very thankful that they are both alive and well.  They were so excited to meet Benny!

They are 93 years apart in age, but they still managed to be the best of friends.

Great-Granny is 88 years old.  Benny and Granny were good friends too.

4 generations

So. when you have a baby everyone tries to decide who the baby looks like.  General concensus seems to be that Benny looks more like me than Kevin.  But, looking at my baby pics over I don't think Benny and I look alike too much as babies.  However, I do think he looks a good bit like his cousin Luke as a baby.  Here is a video of Benny and Luke from the baptism weekend.  Luke has a lot of love for Little B.

Two Months Old: What I Love About Benny

OK.  So today Benny is really nine weeks old.  I'm behind on my blogging. I wanted to make sure I blog-documented his cuteness/sweetness thus far.

1. He smiles!  This is by far the best thing in the world.  When he smiles at me, I feel like the happiest person to have ever lived.  Its contagious.  You just can't help but smile back.  (On a side note, I keep trying to take a picture of his smile, but the camera is too slow.  He smiles, I take the pic, and by the time it actually takes the picture the moment is gone.  Stupid camera.)

2. He likes to cuddle.  When you hold him on your shoulder, he cuddles his face into your cheek.

3. He likes to snuggle.  He loves to lie between Kevin and I in our bed.  He looks so comfy and happy!  (On an aside, I know you aren't supposed to sleep with your baby in bed.  We just snuggle.)

4.  He has mastered the pouty lip.  If Benny is dissatisifed, you will get the pouty lip face!

5. He is sleeping so much better at night.  This is very good for Mommy.  He sleeps a 5 to 7 hour stretch now at night.  He slept for 7 hours straight for the first time about a week ago.  I woke up and had so much energy, I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself.

6.  He's a bit pudgy.  Chubby little cheeks and thighs.  Too cute.

In celebration of Benny's 2 month birthday, Kevin and I had our first 'date night.'  Benny stayed with Grammy and Grampie, and we went to the Cleveland Auto Show!  That's right.  Our first date post-Benny's birth, and Kevin takes me to the auto show.  He is such a romantic.  I must admit, we had a great time.  We rode the Jeep demo (those jeeps can do crazy things.)  The jeep display also had a rock climbing station.  My first rock climbing experience!  What were my favorite cars?  I still love the BMW Z4 roadster the best.  I also liked the Fisker.
