Mr. Sleepy

http://youtu.be/7VhwwzQw__s

The link above is from maybe 2 weeks ago.  I had given Benny a bath and brought him downstairs to change into his PJs for bed.  He was so, so tired.  He decided he would sing his own bedtime song.  The video demonstrates Benny's excessive love for my hair.  He does sleep with a stuffed animal---either his horse or monkey.  But, what he really loves is to stroke my hair.  Ah...so soothing.

Mommy's hair + a binky = a content, yet very sleepy Benny.

Nana

Yup.  I've convinced Nana, once again, to share her cake and ice cream with me...

It's delicious!

Benny loves Nana.  Its pretty cute.  He takes her hand and shows her things all over the house.  If Nana is around, she is his personal and very best playmate.  So far, she is the first person where he uses her name consistently to get her attention.  If I ask him what's my name, he says "mama." When Kevin gets home from work, he is very excited to see him and shouts "dada"  But, he doesn't regularly use our names as a means to get our attention, but he does with Nana.  For example, we were outside and he was walking towards the shed in our backyard where we keep some of his outdoor toys.  Nana stopped following him.  He was almost to the shed and he turned around and motioned to her and yelled "NANA!"  I'm sure his little head was thinking "Come on Nana.  Keep up.  I thought you were playing with me."

Nana + Benny=BFFs

(Not to mention, Nana is married to this really nice guy named Papa who gives Benny excellent hair cuts.)

Happy Father's Day!

Benny and I got kinda crafty and creative with this year's Father's Day gift....

Benny says "Let me get you a beer daddy.... Oh yes.  And a piece of chocolate cake with chocolate icing to share with me."

Gotta say, Kevin is a pretty good Daddy and a really good husband.  He loves Benny and I very, very much and takes good care of us.  We *heart* Daddy!

Summer of the Bah Mower

Who would have known that this lawn mower would have been one of Benny's favorite toys?  Should have known...it has wheels.  Anything with wheels ranks pretty high for Benny.  He says 'lawn mower;'  it comes out as 'bah mower,' ---something like that.  This is how he asks to go outside---he looks at me and says "Bah Mower?"  Mommy's interpretation---"Hey mom.  Can we go outside so I can play with my lawn mower?"  When we go for walks, he is very excited about anyone using their 'bah mower' to cut their grass.

Here he is in action with his beloved lawn mower.  However, as I write this, I think he might have a new outdoor passion that trumps the lawn mower.  This is digging in the dirt.  I planted some flower seeds with him outside maybe two weeks ago.  He thought it was great.  Now he has a little spot in one of our beds that I let him dig in.  So much fun.

For indoor play, Benny enjoys his barn and animals.  He puts the animals in and out of the barn, has the farmer drive the tractor, gives the animals a drink of water, and feeds the animals from a play bucket of apples.  Yesterday, he came up with an even better idea.  The animals need to eat Cheerios.  He got a handful of Cheerios, put them on the coffee table and let each of the animals have some.  There you have it.  Benny's farming secret.  You ought to be feeding your livestock Cheerios.

Farmer Benny.

Gotta give the animals a drink.
